I am a data guy. I like having a universe of information, and extracting the information from it. So this essay by Ed Sim lights my fire a little.

Though I do wonder whether this is really pointing to a mounting cost of server-centricity, and we will see more data spread out to the “edges” - people’s own computers and lans, and see more of the data mining done at this level, where it is more managable, and immediately relevant to the end user.
